About Our Craftsman
Why I ended up as a sign carver. By Paul Thompson.
For many years I would vacation in the U.S.,
usually towing my glider around to soaring sites in the New England Area.
I was always impressed and loved the look of the carved wooden signs.
I understand that in some areas this type of signage was so appreciated and proved so successful that
entire towns and business districts opted for handcrafted dimensional signage.
In other words, no neon or plastic. I fell in love with this style of sign.
My wife and I would go into shops and restaurants simply because their signs were so inviting.
I thought that if I ever got out of the Audio/Video business, I would love to learn how to create such
beautiful pieces of art.
In 1990 I trained with a master sign carver in Vermont and then, a few years later,
closed a 25-year business and started designing, carving and selling wooden signs.
